Sculpted body features, refined contours, and a low, sloping roofline give the K5 a coupe-like silhouette. Each of the five 2025 Kia K5 trims features a revised grille and the new Star Map signature lighting, where light flows through lines and converges at a single point, creating a sharp, dynamic appearance. LED multireflector headlights and taillights are also standard. The LXS FWD rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, GT-Line and EX trim levels upgrade to 18-inch alloys, and the performance-oriented GT distinguishes itself with 19-inch gloss black and machined-finish alloy wheels and neon green brake calipers. A quad-tip dual exhaust system and upward-pointing fins in the lower front bumper emphasize the GT's athletic intentions.

The LXS, GT-Line, and EX models utilize a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with 191 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 181 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm paired with a smooth-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. A more potent 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in the GT increases output to 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque and works with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission for quick, precise gear changes. Front-wheel drive is standard on all but the GT-Line, which offers an all-wheel-drive system for improved traction in challenging conditions.

A 5.2-second 0-to-60 mph sprint time and a quarter-mile run of 13.7 seconds at 106 mph highlight the GT's performance credentials. Its sport-tuned suspension and wide tires provide sharp handling, and the D-shaped steering wheel with paddle shifters gives drivers more direct control over gear selection. The GT-Line AWD features torque-vectoring technology, which distributes power delivery between the front and rear wheels for optimal grip in various driving conditions.

A 12-speaker Bose premium audio system is included on the EX and available on the GT-Line and GT models. The LXS has a cloth seat trim, while the other models upgrade to SynTex seating surfaces.
