Kia Connected Home Unveiled

Charging station

We at Ken Ganley Kia New Port Richey are thrilled to give you an introduction to what the Kia Connected Home™ has to show you. You’ll be able to discover boundary-pushing technologies that are planning to arrive in upcoming all-electric Kia models, which can both revitalize your travels to James E. Grey Preserve and home life. Our summary has more to say, so please stay with our team and read the scoop!

Kia Connected Home™

What exactly is the Kia Connected Home™? It's a building located in Las Vegas where EVs, such as the 2024 EV9 and the EV6, are presented to the public. It's done so in a way where crowds were able to see first-hand what driving through New Port Richey with ingenious technology is like. This took place on Monday, January 8th, 2024 at the Consumer Electronics Show®, or CES, at 3 pm PST. It is an event where many companies from different industries can display inventive technologies to show developments they've been able to produce for buyers. As for Kia, it presented various automotive products, including those belonging in the category of robotics, energy and power, sustainability, and more.

PBVs and 10 Must-Have Items

Now, it's time for us at Ken Ganley Kia New Port Richey give you details some of Kia's "Platform Beyond Vehicles," or PBV, plan by describing some of the prototype vehicles that it has in store. One of them is the Concept PBV A, which can be paired with different modules through the form of "Easy Swap." To elaborate, a vehicle chassis can combine with these modules for drivers to have a vehicle in the form of a van or a taxi for their needs. Also introduced in this event were concept EV3 and EV4 models. The reason was to showcase Kia's 10 must-have items, which are natural materials set to be installed in the interior of these cars, which include bio paint, BTX free paint, and more. The first protoype model mentioned user-friendly features, including ergonomic chairs and eye-catching design elements as depicted with its sloping roofline. In the latter model, you will be mesmerized with the race-car like aesthetic and its geometric designs. When these EVs are released, any of these features will charm those who see them.

Test Driving and Bidirectional Charging

Finally, the Kia Connected Home™ hosted test driving simulations for crowds to live out the technologies that the EV9 has upcoming. The length of the sample drive was 15 minutes, and they would sit in a seat similar to what the driver's chair would be like. By looking at the 3D clip on a screen in front of them, users saw for themselves how the Remote Smart Parking Assist1 intuitively works. This technology would let the car settle in a spot while being controlled by the driver who can do so while not seated inside. Plus, Highway Driving Assist2 was demonstrated by showing how the EV9 can travel while giving plenty of room to the following car ahead. Visitors also had the ability to better comprehend bidirectional charging, which is done through vehicle-to-home integration3. When the Wallbox Quasar 2 DC charger is connected to the vehicle, it can direct electricity to a person's residence if the home loses power. This charger can also sense when the grid has regained voltage, so it will start juicing up the EV's battery. If you stay in touch, we could have updates about any auto shows that might host more simulations for you to explore!
